Yay, an A!!

Today we got back our project with the four lines. I was THRILLED to get 94/100! So legit. My teacher thinks I have great work ethic and great design languange, which is AWESOME!! We turned in our second project today. We are working with the same lines from the previous project, but this time we had to fill some of the sections with black. This changed things dramatically. The purpose of the project was to balance the figure/ground relationship--meaning that the white or the black shouldn't "stand out" more. You have to pay close attention to detail because without that you are likely to assume that more of a certain color means that it is the background. However, this is not always the case. Just because there is more black than white or vice-versa, it doesn't mean it is the background and the other color is the figure. It was difficult to understand this concept at first, but it makes perfect sense now. We all had to change our lines around slightly and work with different ideas. I painted about 50 different versions of my lines, not including the inverses of the colors. Anyways, I feel very happy with my final version and I have received lots of great feedback about it from my classmates and teacher. Here it is:

PS-Brecken told me she thinks the middle white section looks like a woman. Now that is all I can see when I look at it, haha.
